Signed by the author on a professionally tipped in page from a signed limited edition, therefore the authenticity is guaranteed. This book measures approximately 8.5" x 5.75", with 446 numbered pages. The book and jacket have all the required first issue points: Copyright page states Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 69-11465 on the top, and printed by American Book-Stratford Press on the bottom, with no statements of additional impressions. Boards are white with a gold design on the front of a hand holding puppet strings, and gold lettering on a black cloth spine. The original price of $6.95 and the 6903 number code are present on the front flap.

The book is in very good plus condition. Moderate surface wear and staining to the original cloth boards. Gilt lettering on the spine and front board is partially faded. Previous owner's embossed seal at the bottom of the front endpaper. The original dust jacket is in very good minus condition. Moderate creasing and tearing to the panels and edges. Original $6.95 price is present on the front flap. Vertical crease on the rear flap.

"The Godfather" is Puzo's third novel. Puzo takes us inside the violence infested society of the Mafia and its gang wars. Detailing the story of a fictional Mafia family in New York City, the novel covers the years 1945-1955 and includes the backstory of the Godfather from early childhood to adulthood.
