This book is in very good minus condition. Minor wear to the boards and page edges. Cloth is heavily foxed. Interior pages are clean and well preserved. No previous ownership marks or bookplates. Dust jacket is in good plus condition. Moderate wear and creasing to the extremities. Large chip missing at the top of the spine. Original $3.00 price is present on the front flap, however the nearby corner has been torn with some paper loss.
"Nineteen Eighty-Four" is a dystopian social science fiction novel and cautionary tale by George Orwell. This is Orwell's ninth and final book completed in his lifetime. The story takes place in an imagined future in the year 1984, when much of the world is in perpetual war. More broadly, the novel examines the role of truth and facts within societies, and the ways in which they can be manipulated.
