New York: Doubleday, Doran & Company, 1930. School Edition. Only publishing date given is 1894, but this copy was printed circa 1930. Measuring approximately 7.5" x 5", with 305 numbered pages. Original black and white illustrations throughout.
This book is in very good minus condition. Moderate surface wear and soiling to the original cloth boards. The spine is sun faded. Some staining to the preliminary pages. The binding is sound and the textblock is clean and well preserved.
The Jungle Book (1894) is a collection of stories by the English author Rudyard Kipling. Most of the characters are animals such as Shere Khan the tiger and Baloo the bear, though a principal character is the boy or "man-cub" Mowgli, who is raised in the jungle by wolves.
