This book is in very good minus condition. Minor wear and staining to the original black cloth boards. Spine label is chipped and worn. Spine is sun-faded. Old bookplate removal damage on the front pastedown. Interior pages are clean and well preserved.

"In Our Time" is Hemingway's first collection of short stories. The stories have themes of alienation, loss, grief, and separation, which include descriptions of acts of war, bullfighting, and current events. The collection is known for its spare language and oblique depiction of emotion, through a style known as Hemingway "theory of omission".
