The book is in very good minus condition. Moderate wear and soiling to the original cloth boards. Wear to the cloth at the spine ends and corners. Endsheets heavily foxed, interior pages have minor scattered foxing. Binding is sound and well preserved.
Dr. Flint was one of the most eminent of 19th-century physicians, and a pioneer of heart research in the United States. He discovered a disorder now known as the Austin Flint murmur, characterized by regurgitation of blood from the aorta into the heart before contraction of the ventricles.
