Wolff listed as the printer on the copyright page. Original first issue dust jacket with the Steinbeck photo on the rear panel. Measures approximately 8.5" x 5.75", with 602 numbered pages.
This book is in very good minus condition. Moderate surface wear and staining to the cloth boards. Front hinge is cracked at the title page. Edges of the textblock are moderately stained. Interior pages are clean and well preserved. Dust jacket is in fair condition. Lacking the bottom third of the spine. Several tape repairs to the underside of the jacket. Original $4.50 price is present on the front flap.
"East of Eden" is the story of two families, the Trask's and the Hamilton's, and their interwoven stories. The novel is regarded by many to be Steinbeck's most ambitious novel and by Steinbeck himself to be his magnum opus.
