Philadelphia: The Jewish Publication Society of America, 1891. Lacking volume 2 but contains 1, 3, 4, & 5. Measuring approximately 9.25" x 6.25" with 553, 675, 743, & 766 numbered pages respectively.
These volumes are in fair condition. Moderate bumping and scuffing to all spines and edges of boards. Most hinges are cracked. Badly cracked on volume 4 & 5 exposing mesh. Volume I has water damage to bottom of textblock bleeding into pages. The rest of interior pages are clean and bright.
A landmark work of Jewish history and a worldwide phenomenon when it was first published, this masterpiece of Jewish history was translated in multiple languages and instantly become the de facto standard in the field.
