This book is in poor condition. Heavy chipping and tearing to both ends of spine. Heavy chipping to all edges of boards. Heavy staining to all edges of textblock. Front hinge is cracked. Previous owner's annotations on front endpaper. Heavy staining to interior pages. Previous owner's signature on rear pastedown. Rear hinge is cracked.
The house in the book was based on a farm in Harrow once owned by the Trollope family. The real-life farm became a school, which was originally supposed to be the feeder school to Harrow School.
