First edition, first printing with 1904 in Roman numerals on the title page, and "Published April, 1904" on the copyright page. Rare original dust jacket from an early printing. Measuring approximately 8.25" x 5.25", with 89 numbered pages.

The book is in very good condition. Moderate staining and surface wear to both boards. Moderate staining to the edges of the textblock. Old bookseller ticket on the front pastedown. Minor paper damage to front endpaper. Minor staining and foxing to interior pages. Dust jacket is in good minus condition. Heavy chipping to both ends of spine and top edge of both panels.

Adam (based on Twain himself) describes how Eve (modeled after his wife Livy) gets introduced into the Garden of Eden, and how he has to deal with "this new creature with the long hair."
