Chemung County, New York: 1871-1873. Original Handwritten Manuscript. Folio. This book measures approximately 12" x 7.5". Quarter-bound in leather with marbled boards.

This book is in good plus condition. Heavy wear to the leather on the spine. Heavy surface wear to both boards. Manuscript begins on page 9 and continues through page 238 (last 140 pages are blank).

This ledger is filled with cases heard by the Chemung County, Supreme and County courts from the years 1871-1873. Famous resident Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) spent many summers in Elmira (Chemung County) - alas, a brief search did not find any mention of him within the ledger.
