The book is in very good plus condition. Some edgewear to the corners and spine ends. Minor surface scratches and staining to the rear board.
"Up From Slavery" describes working to rise up from being enslaved as a child during the Civil War, the obstacles he overcame to get an education, and his work establishing vocational schools. This book was a best seller and remained the most popular African American autobiography until the 60s.
