Comes with a brand new facsimile (reproduction) dust jacket for protection and display.
This book is in fair condition. Heavy chipping and wear to the head and tail of spine. Some paper loss to both gilt labels on spine and front board. Chipping and wear to the corners of the front and rear boards. Minimal staining and scratching to the front and rear boards. Newspaper clipping of Hemingway loosely laid in between front pastedown and endpaper. Underlining and annotations throughout book. Ex-library copy with label at the tail end of spine.
"In Our Time" is Hemingway's first collection of short stories. The stories themes of alienation, loss, grief, and separation, which include descriptions of acts of war, bullfighting, and current events. The collection is known for its sparse language and oblique depiction of emotion, through a style known as Hemingway's "theory of omission".
