New York: Harper & Brothers, 1950. Gustave Dore. Lovely 1950 reproduction of the 1865 Dore Bible. This book measures approximately 13" x 9", with 421 numbered pages minus the appendix. Bound in full leather, wonderfully blind-stamped decorations. All edges gilt. Full page Gustave Dore illustrations throughout.
The Bible is in near fine condition. Two small spots of water damage on the front board. Several abrasion marks on the rear board. Light scratches on the gilt edges of the textblock. A stunning edition, would make for an exceptional gift or acquisition.
This King James Version bible is beautifully illustrated with clear and slightly larger font for easy reading.
