The book is in very good condition. Gilt lettering on the spine is very well preserved. Corners and spine ends bumped. Minor scratching and staining to the front and rear boards. Minor staining to top and bottom edges of the textblock. The dust jacket is in good condition. Heavy chipping on the spine ends. A few minor scattered stains visible on the front and rear panels.

"The Catcher in the Rye" is an American novel by J. D. Salinger and was originally intended for adults but is often read by adolescents for its themes of angst and alienation. About one million copies of The Catcher and the Rye are sold every year. The novel was included on Time's 2005 list of the 100 best English-language novels written since 1923.
