The books are from the estate of Reverend John and Alzadia Will. All fourteen books are signed by the author, with many inscribed to the Wills. Signatures are in ink on the front endpaper, save "Morning Flight" and "Eclipse" which are signed on the title pages. All books come with their original dust jackets. The dust jackets are in very good plus condition with some light shelf wear. Some paper loss to the jacket of "Cup of Cold Water". All of the original prices are present on the flaps. The books are in near fine condition. The boards are well preserved with firm edges. Previous owner's signature and stains on pages 90-1 in "Romance of Fire". The contents are clean, bright, and complete.
Paul Hutchens (1902-1977) was an American Christian author and graduate of the Moody Bible Institute. He is best known for writing The Sugar Creek Gang, a series of 36 Christian-themed juvenile fictional books about the adventures of a group of young boys. He also wrote numerous adult fiction books, many with a romance theme, such as the books included in this collection.
The titles included in this collection are: This is Life (1942), The Voice (1942), The Last First (1941), A Song Forever (1942), This Way Out (1942), Romance of Fire (1941), Morning Flight (1944), Eclipse (1944), Cup of Cold Water (1942), Blaze Star (1941), Windblown (1942), Shafted Sunlight (1942), Yesterday's Rain (1941).
