Wrinkled, with slight chipping and tearing, at the edges. Toned around the edges and spine with the lettering and illustrations being bright and clean. The original price of $3.50 is present on the front flap. The bottoms of the flaps are slightly clipped. The book itself is in very good plus condition. The boards are clean and bright, retaining their rich color. The gilt lettering on the spine is bright and clean. Little to no shelf wear to the spine or bumping/scuffing to the corners. Slight offsetting to the endpapers and pastedowns. Inscribed "To Ausie (?) good wishes to a good reader" in black ink on the half-title page, and the author's name in black ink on the title page.
