"Shanghai, the Paradise of Adventurers" was written by the Mexican honorary counsel, Mauricio Fresco. It is a sensationalist expose of the city's dark underbelly, which did not shy away from describing the corruption, prostitution, gambling, and opium of the international city in the 1930's.
