Some wear to the leather at the hinges, most especially to the corners and spine of Volume I; With dings to the board edges. Previous owner's bookplate on all front paste-downs. Slight paper loss at some of the endhseets. Foxing to the fore-edges, preliminary and terminal pages and at some of the text. The hinges are starting. The textblocks are largely, clean, bright, unmarked, and complete. The bindings are tight. The biographies contained in this set are: Volume I: Wickliffe, Thorpe, Cobham, Wolsey, Volume II: Bilney, More, Tindall, Cromwell, Rogers, Hooper, Taylor, Volume III: Latimer, Ridley, Cranmer, Volume IV: Jewel, Gilpin, Hooker, Whitgift, Donne, Herbert, Volume V: Wotton, Ferrar, Hall, Hammond, Sanderson, Baxter, Volume VI: Hale, Henry, Rochester, Tillotson.
