The leather has been treated with a conditioner by a professional bookbinder to preserve and restore it. The book is in good antiquarian condition. Wear to the boards and edges, with slight loss to the rear board leather. Cracked leather at the spine light light loss at top edge. Paper loss to the front paste-down and rear endpaper. Title page is missing. The front hinge is cracked. The binding is starting. Moisture stains to some of the margins. The textblock is gently toned, largely clean, unmarked, and complete. Thomas Hutchinson was the last colonial governor of Massachusetts and fled the colony at the onset of the Revolutionary War.
